耶鲁入学申请的补充文书题目分为简答题和必写文书两项，今年题目稍微有了一些改变： ① “Short Answer Question”的最后一题换了新题目 ② “Essays”的第一题改变，第二题融合了去年的内容
“ 3+4个简答题 ”
无论学生选择Coalition Application，Common Application或QuestBridge Application这三者中的哪一个申请平台，都需要完成以下的简答题：
Q1.Students at Yale have time to explore their academic interests before committing to one or more major fields of study. Many students either modify their original academic direction or change their minds entirely. As of this moment, what academic areas seem to fit your interests or goals most comfortably? Please indicate up to three from the list provided. 耶鲁大学的学生在决定从事一个或多个学术领域前，都会用充足的时间来探索个人学术兴趣。通过这种探索，有学生会调整原来的学术方向，有学生则完全改变自己的学术爱好。到目前为止，哪些学术领域是符合你的兴趣或个人目标的呢？（请从提供的列表中最多指出三个。）
Q2.Tell us about a topic or idea that excites you and is related to one or more academic areas you selected above. Why are you drawn to it? (200 words or fewer) 告诉我们一个与你上面选择的一个或多个学术领域相关的让你兴奋的话题或想法。告诉我们你为什么被它吸引？（200字以内）
Q3.What is it about Yale that has led you to apply? (125 words or fewer) 你申请耶鲁的原因是什么？（125字以内）
以上这三个问题可以简单概括为“Why You”、“Why Major”、“Why School”。
选择Coalition Application或Common Application申请系统的学生还需要回答下面这些简答题（200字符，约35个单词以内）。

Q2.Yale’s residential colleges regularly host conversations with guests representing a wide range of experiences and accomplishments. What person, past or present, would you invite to speak? What would you ask them to discuss? 耶鲁大学住宿学院会定期邀请拥有丰富经历和个人成就的嘉宾进行讲座，如果是你来邀请，你会邀请谁？这个人可以是已经逝去的，也可以是仍然健在的，你会问对方什么问题？

提交Coalition Application或Common Application的申请人需要回答以下问题之一，字数不超过400字。
Q1.Yale carries out its mission “through the free exchange of ideas in an ethical, interdependent, and diverse community.” Reflect on a time when you exchanged ideas about an important issue with someone holding an opposing view. How did the experience lead you either to change your opinion or to sharpen your reasons for holding onto it? 耶鲁大学拥有一个“有道德的、相互支撑的、鼓励多元化、自由交流思想的”社区，我们的使命也正是如此。回想一下，当你和持相反观点的人就一个重要问题交换意见的时候，这段经历是如何让你改变自己的观点，或者是让你更明确的坚持它的呢？
